The AI Lab on PERSCO’s Campus
Coral Reef Innovation Hub’s establishment of an AI lab at St Peter’s Senior High School is a significant step forward in the advancement of AI technology in the PERSCO community.
They were delighted about the prospects that this lab will provide for entrepreneurs, researchers, and our community as a whole, and we look forward to seeing how it will benefit their society.
The AI lab is outfitted with cutting-edge technology, such as extensive computer resources, cutting-edge machine learning algorithms, and strong data analytics tools.
A team of skilled researchers and scientists can now collaborate with students and faculty to develop new AI applications and systems that can help tackle some of our society’s most critical problems.
One of the AI lab’s key goals is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship by giving entrepreneurs with the tools and resources needed to develop new AI-based products and services.
The sponsors want to influence mindsets and unleash latent potential in the student and staff community through this programme.
The AI lab is likewise dedicated to advancing AI research and development. The team is continually exploring new AI research pathways and producing cutting-edge solutions to challenging issues in a variety of fields such as healthcare, education, agriculture, climate, finance, and others.
The Ministry of Education and its agency, Ghana Education Service (GES), are appreciative for the contributions of all partners, including NEIP, Intel, and the St. Peter’s Old Boys Association, which have made this initiative possible. They are excited to collaborate to use the power of AI to drive innovation and progress in our community.
The lab was established with contributions from year groups spanning 1974-2008, Perscoba UK, and Perscoba North America as a way of showing appreciation and giving back to their alma mater for its impact on their lives, according to the president of the old students association.
The headmaster of St. Peter’s also recognised the work of these former pupils and pledged to guarantee that the facility is used for its intended purpose.
Mr. Richard Osei-Anim, Managing Partner of Coral Reef Innovation Hub, stated that the fundamental aim of Coral Reef was to promote access, equity, and inclusion by providing Education 4.0 solutions to overcome Africa’s digital poverty gap.
Although St. Peter’s has taken the lead, Coral Reef and its partners will collaborate with the Ministry of Education and The Ghana Education Service to support efforts to increase the penetration of these solutions across the education landscape as they jointly build a transformation pipeline.
He went on to explain that the purpose of training the youth in Artificial Intelligence is to provide them with skills for the future. As automation replaces routine tasks, innovation offers an opportunity to train students in a variety of skills that will prepare them and make them fit for purpose for the future of work.
