The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Education, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng has announced the release date of the 2022 BECE.
He made mention of this when he spoke on JoyNews AM Show on Friday, 13th January, 2023.
2022 BECE Results and Placements
Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng disclosed during the interview that their checks with the West African Education Council (WAEC) reveals that the 2022 BECE results will be results by 25th January, 2023.
“Our checks with WAEC show that hopefully by 19th January, the BECE results will be in,” he told the host of the AM Show, Bernice Abu-Baidoo Lansah.
Mr. Kwarteng also reiterated that the Education Ministry is working tirelessly to enable first-year Senior High School (SHS) students to begin school as soon as possible.
Hence, after the results are released, placement which deals with allocating students to their respective SHS will also come much earlier as compared to the previous years.
“This year, the placement will be quite earlier. Instead of March, we are looking at February so that students can get to school quite earlier,” Mr Kwarteng said.

He further urged 2022 BECE candidates to check online as soon as possible when the placements are released for their various Senior High Schools.
Mr. Kwarteng also mentioned that there will be manual provisions in place for students who are unable to get schools via the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
He gave the assurance that when school placements are announced, further details will be made public.
The 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) was conducted from 17th October, 2022 to 21st October, 2022.
A total of 552,276 candidates from 18,501 schools sat for the examination throughout the country. However, the number that registered for the 2022 BECE was 3.48% less than the 2021 entry figure of 572, 167.
