The ‘One Teacher, One Laptop’ (1T1L) which seeks to provide teachers with a customised TM1 Laptop was launched on Friday, 3rd September, 2021 at St. Mary’s SHS. The event was officially launched by His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The 1T1L was an initiative taken by GNAT, NAGRAT and CCT as an intervention to teachers needs. The three Teacher Unions suggested to the government to provide Laptops to all Teachers to aid in the effective teaching through the application and use of ICT.
The government, through the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service heeded to the call of the three Teacher Unions to provide Laptops under the following conditions and terms:
1. That the government will facilitate the acquisition of the Laptops.
2. That GES will ensure affective distribution of the Laptops
3. That there will be cost sharing as follows;
a. Government paying 70%
b. Teachers paying 30%
4. That the Teacher’s 30% component will not be deducted from the Teacher’s salary but paid through the professional allowance allocation.
5. That the computers provided become the property of the individual teachers.
6. That the company KA Technology provide training and after sale services to the teachers.
TM1 Price Allocation
The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) released a press statement to inform Teachers of the price of the TM1 Laptop on 6th September, 2021.
