As Elon Musk‘s firm, Twitter, pushes toward changing its name to X, it unveiled a new logo on 24th July 2023 Monday that replaced the blue bird with a white X on a black background.
The firm will now be known as X, and Musk and Linda Yaccarino, the new CEO, revealed the renaming. They said the company would subsequently expand into payments, banking, and commerce.

The ‘X’ Rebranding
Elon Musk has since changed his profile picture to the company’s new logo, which he described as “minimalist art deco,” and updated his Twitter bio to “X.com,” which now redirects to twitter.com.
According to X Corp’s owner, billionaire Elon Musk, “Twitter was acquired by X Corp both to ensure freedom of speech and as an accelerant for X, the everything app.”
“The name Twitter made sense when there were only back-and-forth 140 character messages – like birds tweeting – but now you can post nearly anything, including hours and hours of video. We will be able to manage your entire financial world and include extensive communications in the upcoming months,” he continued.
The Setbacks and Comebacks
Elon Musk’s messaging service X, formerly known as Twitter, came under fire for putting a big illuminated “X” on the top of its San Francisco offices.
Residents and city officials have expressed complaints about obtrusive lights, and the Department of Building Inspection is looking into potential code breaches.
Despite Musk’s assurance that X would remain in San Francisco, several residents complain about the logo’s brightness and record films of it pulsing and strobing.
In spite of all the lash backs, Twitter was able to rebrand as X and become the first one-character iPhone app thanks to a rare exception it was able to get from Apple’s strict App Store guidelines.
Due to the minimum character limitations, Apple first rejected the effort to modify the app’s name to X, which temporarily confused users.

Twitter, however, is now the first one-character name on the platform thanks to a recent tweak by Apple to the App Store listing. The impact on other apps with single-character names and prospective policy changes are both raised by this exception.
Some believe that the exception was caused by Apple’s association with Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X Corp.
