Brief Background of Center for World University Rankings (CWUR)
The Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR) has been providing academic rankings of international institutions since 2012. These rankings evaluate the quality of faculty, research, employability, and education without relying on surveys or university data submissions.
The ranking began as a project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the objective of rating the best 100 colleges in the world. Universities and the media published it fast all around the world, and many demands to expand it came in.
The rating became the largest academic ranking of international institutions in 2019 when it expanded to include the top 2000 universities out of about 20,000 worldwide.
