A letter from GES Headquarters dated 27th October, 2021 appears to have given Michael Owusu Afriyie his marching orders.

He was also accused of the highest level of insubordination towards the District Director and the SISO responsible for his School as well as the Headteacher of his school. This was due to his refusal to respond to queries served him by the Headteacher and the SISO.
He was also accused of not responding to the querry served him by his District Director of Education to appear before a panel to investigate his conducts.
T.he Management of GES acknowledged his positive contributions to the Service by providing school uniforms and shoes, donating computers to the school as well renovating some part of the school.
He was later addressed that his appointment with Ghana Education Service has been terminated forthwith.
However, since termination of appointment requires the endorsement of the GES Council which is currently not reconstituted, he was directed to stay away from the Ghana Education Service until the final decision is taken.
