AirtelTigo, one of the leading telecommunication providers in Ghana and always ready to adapt to new technologies is now ready to provide their customers with the new Embedded SIM (eSIM) service.
This makes AirtelTigo the first Ghanaian network operator to offer this service to their customers.

The Chief Executive Officer of AirtelTigo, Leo Skarlatos, mentioned that the introduction of the eSIM will make AirtelTigo to stay ahead of the innovation. He also mentioned that providing customers with much-desired flexibility and staying abreast with current technology trends has been their focus al as always and this initiative a proof of that.

The AirtelTigo eSIM is free to upgrade for existing customers. Customers who have eSIM compatible phones and tablets can visit any AirtelTigo office to be part of this new technology. “eSIM added flexibility to eSIM compatible phones or devices by transforming them fron single SIM to dual sim devices. Smartphones users can dial *#06# to check wether their devices support eSIM or not.” the Chief Marketing Officer of AirtelTigo, Atul Narain Singh also added.
The Minister for Communication and Digitalisation, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, who was present at the launch was full of praise for the AirtelTigo initiative and commitment to digitalization and technology in Ghana.
Subscribers should note that devices that support eSIM will show a barcode with ‘EID’ at the beginning of the code on the screen after dialing the shortcode.
